Poem written by Benjamin Wiechel

"Shockwave"

A tremble begins
Shaking my finger
Travelling up my hand
To my arm
To my body
I shake, shivering
Nervous, out of control
A state of shock
Of surprise
Of uncontrollable emotion

Emotion slowly infuses my body
Mind, soul
Starting at the tip
And slowly spreading
Like water on the floor
Overtaking my senses
Filling me to the brim
Overpowering, strong

My emotions are powerful
My love, my hatred
Both strong and overpowering
Feel the pulse
Of my life, my strength
My weakness
Feel my emotion
Impinge upon your life
Feel how it changes
Both itself, and you
See its color
Feel how tangible it is

These words
Thoughts and actions
They seem to be plain
Yet behind them
Behind each tiny character
Each holds the thought
The life blood
Of each moment of my life
A beast of monstrous proportions
FEEL the power
Feel the wash
Of pure, raw, unadulterated
EMOTION
A current of fire
Purging the innocence
Of all it touches
My life
A torrential river
Of pain and agony
Of love and caring
Waves of emotion
Breaking regularly
Carpe Diem
Seize the moment
Live the life
Leave no stone unturned
No door unopened
Live life to the fullest
And FEEL the power
Of EMOTION
