"Love Requited"

Eyes that melt
A smile bright as the sun
Her arms hold me
A gentle hug
A warmth unknown
To my hardened heart

I melt
My heart opening to her
My mind releasing its hold
On my tense muscles
Relaxing
Resting
Arms encircling her also

Music plays wondrously
Birds sing
Butterflies paint the sky
Sun shining gently down on us
A miracle of love
Warming, protecting

Full of surprises
She brings me into her life
Caring, loving, and protecting
She leads me to her heart
Her eyes full
Of every emotion imaginable
Her life laid out before me
A great trust
Set forth before me

Love requited
A love unfelt before in my life
A warmth, a knowledge
Never before present
Her touch, her smile, her gaze
More than I deserve
Yet willingly graced with
And for once in my life
Is the love here
In my heart
Shared
Not separate
A willing bonding
Of two into one

The road of love
Twists and winds
And travels from light into darkness
But hopefully
For everyone
That knarled path
Will end in happiness and warmth
And join with another
A bond unbreakable
Love requited
Always
