Poem written by Benjamin Wiechel

"Little Girl, Young Woman"

Sharp pain
A pin prick
Heart bleeding
Pouring out the pain
Emotion washing over her
Quivering lip
Watery eyes....

My heart goes out to her
Loves her, embraces her
She is grown now
But the pain is no less
Hurt from many
A trail of pain
Her pain, my pain
One and the same
Complimenting each other
Her walls are strong
Mine a fortress
A battle of wills
Yet both break under the pressure

She does not see herself
Through proper light
Mine eyes alone
See her true beauty
Her face
Her shape
I have not seen
Her voice a warm remembrance
Of nights spent talking
Her personality
Oh, her personality
My stronghold
My place of retreat
When my pain is too strong
My heart
My arms
Her place of protection

Hear me
Hear my voice ring out
I call out to you
I beg you to awaken
To begin rebirth
For without you
Without your presence
How will I survive?
Mein Liebschen,
My little love,
Open your eyes
And see that I am here
And have always been
I hold out my arms
Ready to embrace, to protect
And to love you

You have stood by me
Through thick and thin
You have let me care for you
Please let me continue
Please let me do more
For my only desire
Is to hold
Love
Care
And protect you
My little girl
My young woman
My love
The world is yours for the taking
And so am I
