"Careful Understanding"

Look into my eyes
See the truth in them
The caring, the loving
You doubt these eyes
You doubt the message they bring
Why?
Is it that hard to believe
That I could care and love you
So much, oh, so much
A tear glistens
And slowly slides down my cheek
My heart
It beats softly
Wishing for your presence
Your caring
Your love
Yet wondering if it is there
To be received
Wondering what one such as you
Would see in a creature like me
My eyes
Piercing
Searching
Digging
Wanting to know what you feel
Trying to discern that
From the magic between us
Yet I find myself blocked
A wall
Wherefor it came from
I do not yet know
Would that all could be as it was
You in my arms
Smiling, laughing
My heart leaping for joy
I will do my best
To return that feeling
For both of us
I feel we are one
Bonded in our own right
Ne'er do I wish to leave you
Not through fear shall I fly
But through love shall I follow
And walk beside

My words....
They are difficult to say
And difficult to understand
Cryptic from the start
I know not how best
To say the words
That my heart cries out to you
Look into my eyes
Feel my heart
Know that I love you
And let me cherish your love
For with you I am happy
And without, alone
Two broken pieces of glass
Mended by the love for each other
